Pediatric Dentist

I view pediatric dentistry as an opportunity to satisfy three of my passions: art, science, and working with children. I enjoy the entire range of patients in our pediatric practice — from the infants and toddlers to the young adults in their college years. It is especially rewarding to see them early and watch them grow up into young adults.

Education and Continuing Education

I received a Bachelor of Science in biology from S.U.N.Y at Stonybrook in 1987, and graduated from dental school at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1991. I went on to earn a master’s degree and certificate in pediatric dentistry from The Ohio State University in 1995. I am board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

I attend the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s annual meeting every year and participate in many courses on a wide range of subjects throughout the year. I choose to participate in continuing education, both as a student and as a lecturer, because it is important to remain current with the latest research, information, and techniques.

By presenting information, I am driven not only to prepare the lecture, but to review the information beyond the topic to prepare for questions that are a part of any lecture. This approach benefits our patients by ensuring I am up to date on all the important issues.

Outside the Office

A Yankee fan from the Big Apple, I enjoy running, biking, playing golf, and giving lectures within the local dental and medical communities. I currently live in Essex with my wife Julie, and am often on the field coaching for my three children: Matt, Nolan, and Chris.

I feel that community involvement is important, and have always tried to use my skills and passion to impact the lives of others in a positive way. Locally, I have coached youth sports for many years, and have volunteered my time in our schools and community organizations. In 2015, I took a medical mission trip to Haiti, which was more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.
